Botanical Garden

Târgu Mureș, Romania, Romania

The Botanical Garden of Târgu Mureș (also known as the Botanical Garden of the George Emil Palăde University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Târgu Mureș) is a special botanical garden located at Strada Verii 57, Târgu Mureș, Mureș County, Romania. Opened in 1891, the garden houses over 1,000 species of plants from all around the world that are acclimatized in a natural system, and is considered one of the largest medicinal gardens in Europe. The garden is divided into four important sectors established in two stages: the first stage in 1908 arranged the Dendrological Park and Greenhouse, while the second stage in 1948 added the Systematic Sector and the Medicinal Plants Sector. It serves as both a place for recreation and as the base material for students of the Faculty of Pharmacy and its Integrated Pharmaceutical Education Center, a unique advantage that sets it apart from other medical training centers in Romania. The herb garden outside allows students to study aromatic plants with their distinct scents as well as toxic plants that remain a priceless source of active ingredients, complementing the landscape that seems a world removed from a story.
