Moscow, Russia, Russia

The Botanical Garden of the First Moscow State Medical University named after I. M. Sechenov (Botanicheskiy Sad MMA Im. I.M. Sechenova) is a specially protected natural area of regional importance located on the left bank of the Moskva River at Testovskaya Ulitsa 20, Building 1 in Moscow's Presninsky District, near the Moscow City skyscrapers and the MCC Business Center station.

Founded on September 25, 1946, as a training and research base for students of the Moscow Pharmaceutical Institute (now Sechenov University), the garden covers 4.95 hectares and has existed for nearly 70 years. It is unique because approximately 60 percent of all medicinal plant species from across Russia grow here, with a total collection of about 1,505 plant species, including many rare plants listed in the Red Book.

The garden was opened to the general public for the first time in 2016, allowing not only students and researchers but also all Moscow residents and visitors to explore its medicinal plant collection, and it now offers free educational lectures through the "Sechenov Lecture Hall" held on Wednesdays at 19:30 for about 1.5 hours.
