Bremore Castle is a historic fortified house located just north of Balbriggan in County Dublin, Ireland. It is believed to date back to the 14th century and was long associated with the powerful Anglo-Norman Barnewall family, who owned and managed the estate for several centuries. The castle played an important role as the centre of a medieval manor and survived periods of conflict, including damage during the 17th century. Over time, it fell into ruin, but extensive restoration and reconstruction efforts have helped transform it into a prominent local landmark once again. Today, Bremore Castle forms part of a larger heritage complex that includes the ruins of St. Mologa’s Church, historic gardens, boundary walls, and other archaeological features. Managed by Fingal County Council, the site is valued for its cultural, architectural, and historical significance and is intended to serve as a community and heritage attraction for the Balbriggan area.
