Bukelon Fortress

Bukelon Fortress is a medieval stronghold near the village of Matochina in southeastern Bulgaria.
It was part of the defensive system protecting Adrianople and the surrounding region, and its ruins show that the site was rebuilt and used over many centuries, from Roman times into the Middle Ages. Today, the best-preserved remains include a tall keep and parts of the walls, making it an important historical and archaeological landmark.
