The former Kolinec Castle began as a Renaissance fortress built after 1541 by Vintíř of Vlčkovice on the site of an earlier 13th-century Gothic castle.
Over time, it underwent several major renovations including Baroque remodeling in 1666 and Classicist changes in 1815. Historically, it was owned by noble families such as Kosa of Dobrš, the Taaffe counts, and the Branibor family.
In the 20th century, the castle was used as a school and experienced renovations that altered its original look.
