Casa Salazar
San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Spain, Spain
Casa Salazar, also known as Palacio de Salazar, is a prime example of 17th-century Canarian Baroque architecture in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.
Built starting around 1629 and completed with its ornate volcanic stone facade by 1687 under Cristóbal Lázaro Salazar de Frías, the first Count of Valle de Salazar, it features a two-story design with twisted columns, pilasters, heraldic shields bearing thirteen stars, and wooden balconies around a central patio.
Located on Calle San Agustín in the UNESCO-listed historic center, it later served as the Bishopric of Tenerife until a 2006 fire damaged parts of it, though restoration preserved its cultural significance amid the city's colonial heritage.
