Castell de Cervera del Maestrat crowns the hilltop above the town of Cervera del Maestre in Castellón province, Valencian Community, Spain, originating as a 12th-century Almohad Islamic fortress on earlier Caliphate hisn foundations.

Covering 7,500 square meters at 351 meters elevation with robust defensive walls, towers, three water cisterns, and two chapels, it served as a Montesa Order stronghold before partial destruction by Philip V's forces during the 18th-century War of Spanish Succession. 

Archaeological finds including an Iron Age stone throne highlight prehistoric significance, while illuminated perimeter paths now enable visitors to explore these medieval remains offering panoramic regional views.
