Castell de Saix, commonly known as Sax Castle or Castillo de Sax, is a striking Islamic-origin fortress crowning a limestone ridge at 500 meters above sea level in Sax, Alicante province, Valencian Community, Spain, dominating the Alto Vinalopó valley.
Featuring an Almohad-era square mudwall tower to the north and a prominent 20-meter early 14th-century Torre del Homenaje to the southeast, it defended strategic routes after conquest by the Crown of Aragon in 1239 and later ceded to Castile.
Recently restored with a reconstructed main gate, the well-preserved ruins offer panoramic views and represent a key legacy of medieval frontier architecture amid the town's historic center.
