Castell de Santa Bàrbara, also known as Santa Barbara Castle, is a massive 9th-century fortress crowning Mount Benacantil in central Alicante, Valencian Community, Spain, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the city below.

Originating under Muslim rule as a strategic citadel with possible earlier Iberian and Roman foundations, it was captured by Christian forces led by Alfonso X on Saint Barbara's feast day in 1248, prompting its renaming, and underwent extensive reconstructions by Aragonese kings like James II, Peter IV, and Philip II into a Renaissance-era military complex with bastions, walls, and artillery positions.

One of Spain's largest medieval fortresses, it endured sieges including a devastating 1709 mine explosion during the War of Spanish Succession, later served as a prison, and now functions as a free public park with panoramic views, a tavern, and remnants blending Islamic, Gothic, and military architecture.
