Castell-molí de Ratera
Spain, Spain
Castell-molí de Ratera is a historic castle and watermill complex situated in Ratera, within Els Plans de Sió municipality in Lleida province, Catalonia, Spain, on the right bank of the Sió River.
Dating back to the 9th century as a probable secondary fortification of nearby Concabella Castle, it evolved through the 11th century as part of the Concabella barony and was transformed into a Gothic structure during the 14th and 15th centuries.
Recognized as a cultural heritage site (Bien de Interés Cultural), the ruins blend defensive architecture with industrial milling features, reflecting medieval land use in Catalonia's Segarra region.
