Castillo de Casasola
Spain, Spain
Castillo de Casasola is a ruined 15th‑century Gothic castle standing on a rocky outcrop above the Tajuña River near Chinchón, in the Community of Madrid, Spain.
Built with a distinctive triangular ground plan and defended by a stone bridge, moat, and several towers, it later became a discreet meeting place and refuge for politicians and military figures who supported the restoration of King Alfonso XII in the 19th century.
Today it remains privately owned, surrounded by extensive rural land, and is valued as a picturesque example of late medieval fortified architecture in the Madrid countryside.
