Castillo de Grisel
Spain, Spain
Castillo de Grisel is a 14th-century medieval castle in the village of Grisel, Zaragoza province, Aragon, Spain, near Tarazona and the Moncayo region.
Acquired in 1352 by the Chapter of Tarazona from Hugo de Cardona to bolster defenses against Castilian incursions, it features robust exterior walls, battlements, arrow slits, a prominent watchtower, and a chapel with a ribbed vault ceiling.
After extensive restoration over 30 years, it reopened in 2014 as a charming boutique hotel with eight bedrooms, pools, tennis courts, and event spaces, blending its military heritage with modern hospitality amid stunning natural surroundings like the Pozo de los Aines chasm.
