Castillo de Jumilla crowns Cerro del Castillo hill in Jumilla, Murcia region, Spain, built in 1461 by the powerful Marquis of Villena on pre-existing Iberian, Roman, and Moorish fortifications that had guarded this strategic plateau since antiquity.

This robust 15th-century Gothic-Mudéjar fortress, with its restored ramparts, seven polygonal towers, and central keep offering sweeping Altiplano vineyard views, played key roles defending Castilian frontiers during the Reconquista's final phases and later noble power struggles.

Now a museum with multilingual exhibits on its layered history, the site draws visitors amid Jumilla's renowned wine country, blending military heritage with scenic panoramas.
