Constructed during the Taifa period as a strategic stronghold overlooking the Guadalquivir valley, it featured defensive walls and enclosures typical of Almoravid military architecture amid the region's frontier conflicts. Now in ruins and cataloged as a cultural asset, its remnants reveal layers of Muslim occupation, offering insights into medieval defensive systems despite limited preservation.
