Dating to the 12th century during the Reconquista, this Romanesque fortress features a quadrangular layout around an interior patio, with a prominent homage tower, defensive murallas, corner torreones, and a surrounding foso, later incorporating Gothic and Renaissance elements through noble remodelations.
Built to protect Christian frontiers, it served military and residential roles for local lords before falling into ruin, now preserved as a Bien de Interés Cultural attracting visitors to its strategic site and historical architecture.
