Castillo Zurraquín (en ruinas)
Spain, Spain
Castillo Zurraquín, now in ruins, is a 15th-century fortress nestled in a rural farmstead (caserío) near Cabezas del Villar in Ávila province, Spain.
Only a partial rectangular tower with merlons remains integrated into the buildings, alongside scattered foundation remnants, as stones were repurposed for a nearby bridge. Legend ties it to a knight freeing 20 Christian shepherds from Muslim captivity, but today it stands largely abandoned beside the Ermita de Zurraquín ruins, accessible via a short hike from the village.
