Castle Ledeč nad Sázavou, located in the Czech Republic, began as a wooden fort in the early 13th century and developed into a stone castle over time, showcasing architectural styles from early Gothic to Baroque.

It stands on a rocky limestone promontory surrounded by the Sázava River and the Olešná stream, offering strategic and picturesque views. The castle features a 32-meter tall Early Gothic cylindrical tower, defensive walls, palatial wings with Renaissance elements, and a deep man-made moat with a historic stone bridge.

Throughout its history, the castle changed ownership among notable noble families and played an important role in regional trade routes and defense. Today, it houses the Municipal Museum with exhibits on local history, crafts, and artifacts, including collections of historical clocks, coins, banknotes, and a knight armory.
