Castle Lustenice in Luštěnice, Czech Republic, is a late Baroque castle built around 1740 by Josef Scherzer of Kleinmühl after purchasing the village in 1739.
The castle stands as a U-shaped, two-story building with a small courtyard at the rear and features architectural elements from its original Renaissance fortress, notably preserved in parts of the cellars and ground floor. It underwent modifications after 1774 to better serve as a residence. The estate passed through the hands of noble families, including the Gallas and Nostitz families, reflecting a history intertwined with the region’s aristocracy.
Today, it is recognized as a cultural monument and exemplifies the transformation from a Renaissance stronghold to a Baroque noble residence, showcasing beautiful architecture and historical significance in the Central Bohemian region.
