Castle of Almansa, overlooking the town of Almansa in Albacete province, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain, originated as an Almohad Muslim fortress in the 12th-13th centuries before its conquest by James I of Aragon in 1255, who granted it to the Knights Templar.

Significantly rebuilt around 1346 by powerful noble Don Juan Manuel, Prince of Villena, and expanded in the mid-15th century by the Pacheco family with a tall rectangular keep and additional sections, it witnessed key events like the 1707 Battle of Almansa during the War of the Spanish Succession.

Perched on a rocky crag with rammed earth walls blending Islamic and Gothic elements, the restored structure now serves as a museum showcasing armor, weapons, and panoramic views, standing as a declared Bien de Interés Cultural since 1921.
