Castle of Castellet in Castellet i la Gornal, Alt Penedès region of Catalonia, Spain, is a Romanesque fortress built in 977 AD on a hilltop site with Iberian settlement origins over 2,500 years old, strategically positioned to control key routes like the Vía Augusta and Foix River during the Marca Hispánica frontier defense against Muslim incursions.

Originally a simple watchtower complex with a homage tower and small perimeter wall used for storing arms and provisions, it evolved through 11th-12th century expansions under lords like Unifred Amat and the Santmartí family, featuring round and square towers, high defensive walls, Romanesque-Gothic windows, and battlements amid later 1928 restorations blending authentic medieval elements with some reconstructions.

 Declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest, the well-preserved castle offers panoramic views visible from Montserrat and Montmell, symbolizing Catalonia's Reconquista heritage near coastal towns like Sitges and Vilafranca del Penedès.
