Castle of Castrojeriz is a medieval fortress crowning a hill at 900 meters above the historic pilgrim town of Castrojeriz in Burgos province, Castilla y León, Spain, along the renowned Camino de Santiago.

Dating back to the 9th century with Roman origins and Visigothic expansions, it features distinct sections including a preserved rectangular Roman tower, defensive walls, added medieval towers like the 12th-14th century Torre del Homenaje, and a 15th-century artillery platform amid layers of reconstruction under figures like Count Nuño Núñez and Alfonso VII.

Now evocative ruins classified as a Bien de Interés Cultural since 1949, it witnessed key events like battles between Alfonso the Battler and Urraca, imprisonment of Queen Leonor of Castile, and control by noble families such as Lara and Castro before offering panoramic views to modern visitors.
