Castle of Montsoriu perches dramatically on a 632-meter hill between Arbúcies, Sant Feliu de Buixalleu, and Breda in Catalonia's Selva region, within the Montseny Nature Reserve, Spain, renowned as one of the Crown of Aragon's most impressive Gothic fortresses with over 1,000 years of evolution.

Originating from a 10th-century keep and pre-Romanesque Sant Pere chapel in its highest Sobirà enclosure, it expanded in the 13th century with Gothic halls, curtain walls, and cylindrical towers, then transformed into a luxurious castle-palace under the Cabrera family in the 14th century featuring arcaded galleries, grand dining rooms, kitchens, cisterns, and the Jussà outer enclosure for defense.

Partially ruined over centuries yet extensively restored since the late 20th century through archaeological efforts, this tiered three-enclosure complex offers visitors panoramic views and a glimpse into medieval military architecture once praised by chronicler Bernat Desclot as among the world's most beautiful castles.
