Castle Pohansko, near Břeclav in South Moravia, is a small hunting château best known for standing within one of the most important archaeological sites of the former Great Moravian Empire.

The area was a major Slavic fortified settlement from the 9th century and played a significant role in the early medieval history of Central Europe. The château itself was built much later and serves as a gateway to the archaeological complex. Visitors can explore exhibitions presenting discoveries from excavations, including the remains of churches, fortifications, cemeteries, and settlements that reveal how people lived more than a thousand years ago.

Surrounded by forests near the confluence of the Morava and Dyje rivers, Pohansko combines historical architecture with exceptional archaeological importance.
