Castle Ruins Opárno are the remains of a medieval castle located above the scenic Opárno Valley near Velemín in the Czech Central Highlands of northern Czechia.

The castle was founded before 1344 by the Lords of Vchynice and served as a noble residence and local stronghold during the Middle Ages. By the early 16th century, the castle had been abandoned and gradually fell into ruin. Today, visitors can still see substantial sections of the defensive walls, remnants of courtyards, and vaulted cellar spaces that offer insight into the castle’s original structure.

Set on a narrow ridge overlooking the picturesque Opárno Valley, the ruins are a popular destination for hikers and history enthusiasts. The site combines medieval heritage with beautiful natural surroundings, making it one of the notable landmarks of the Czech Central Highlands.
