Pustý Zámek near Dubá in the Czech Republic is the ruin of a rock castle built in the late 13th century by the noble Berka family from Dubá. The castle was constructed on massive sandstone blocks forming natural moats and featured a defensive layout with parts carved into the rock.
It guarded a trade route running below along the Liběchovka River. The castle was renovated around the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries but was abandoned by about 1450, eventually falling into ruin.
Today, it is a protected cultural monument easily accessible along hiking paths in the scenic Kokořínsko region, known for its impressive rock formations and natural beauty.
