Castle Ruins Střmen
Teplice nad Metují, Czechia, Czech Republic (Czechia)
Střmen is a ruined medieval rock castle near Teplice nad Metují in northern Czechia, set directly into the sandstone cliffs of the Teplice Rocks.
It was probably founded in the 13th or early 14th century, likely for local noble families, and later served a defensive role before being destroyed and abandoned by the 16th–17th centuries. Today only rock-cut remains survive, but the site is still popular because it doubles as a viewpoint with wide views over the rock landscape and the surrounding valley, reached by a steep climb of about 300 steps.
