Castle Zuheros, perched atop a rocky pinnacle in the white village of Zuheros in Córdoba province, Andalusia, Spain, originated in the 9th century as a Moorish stronghold known as Sujayra, part of a small fortified enclave with houses, a mosque, and towers under the Caliphate of Córdoba along key trade routes to Granada.

Conquered around 1240 by King Ferdinand III, it transitioned to Christian control, with Mudéjar residents retaining their homes while ceding the fortress, later adapted into a Renaissance palace in the 15th-16th centuries by local lords before falling into ruin.

Restored in the 20th century, the site now offers panoramic valley views, an attached archaeological museum, and access tied to nearby parish church visits, embodying Subbética's medieval frontier heritage.
