Possibly serving as the capital of the Celtic Amaecos tribe, this easily accessible acrópolis features visible defensive murallas and was home to a parish church of San Antonino de Castro until the early 17th century.
Galician legend ties it to Queen Lupa's residence, the pagan ruler who tested St. James' disciples before her conversion, situating it amid Galicia's rich castro culture near the Portuguese Way of the Camino de Santiago.
