The Cebu Taoist Temple is a vibrant, multi-tiered Chinese-style temple located in the Beverly Hills Subdivision of Cebu City, Philippines, built in 1972 by the city’s substantial Chinese Filipino community as a center for Taoist worship and cultural heritage. Perched 110–300 meters above sea level on a hillside, the temple features colorful red roofs, dragon sculptures, and an entrance designed to resemble the Great Wall of China, offering panoramic views of Cebu City, Mactan Island, and Bohol from its spacious balconies when the sky is clear. Open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM with no entrance fee, it welcomes both worshippers and non-worshipers to explore its chapel, library, souvenir shop, garden, fountain, wishing well, and turtle pond while maintaining a peaceful atmosphere for meditation and soul-searching. As one of Cebu’s most visited non-Catholic shrines, it follows the teachings of ancient Chinese philosopher Lao Zi and serves as a symbol of faith, harmony, and the deep cultural roots of the Chinese Filipino community in the Queen City of the South.
