Chateau Brtnice is a large historic castle complex in the town of Brtnice in the Vysočina Region of the Czech Republic.

Originally built as a Gothic castle in the 15th century on the site of earlier fortifications, it was later transformed into an impressive Renaissance residence and subsequently modified in Baroque and Classical styles. The château was closely associated with the powerful Valdštejn (Wallenstein) family and later the Italian Collalto family, who owned the estate for more than three centuries.

Over time, the complex expanded into a grand noble residence featuring multiple courtyards, gardens, and defensive structures. A major fire in the 18th century led to significant rebuilding, which helped shape much of the château’s present appearance. Despite periods of decline, ongoing restoration efforts have preserved this important cultural monument and reopened parts of it to visitors.

Today, Chateau Brtnice is one of the region’s most notable historic landmarks, valued for its blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture, as well as its rich connection to Czech noble history and cultural events.
