Château De Torredembarra
Torredembarra, Spain, Spain
Château de Torredembarra, also known as Castell d'Icart, is a Renaissance-style castle-palace built between 1565 and 1581 in Torredembarra, Catalonia, Spain, commissioned by Baron Lluís d'Icart as a residence-fortress overlooking the town.
The only newly constructed civil Renaissance building surviving in Catalonia, it features a square layout with corner towers integrated into the old town walls, a porticoed courtyard, Byzantine-style vaults by Pere Blai, and a Baroque entrance portal added later.
After centuries of private ownership and decline, it was restored in 1998 and now houses Torredembarra's town hall, showcasing its cultural heritage with public access to interiors like the chapel and grand hall.
