Chateau Grand Žernoseky (Velké Žernoseky Castle) is a historic Baroque château located on the banks of the Elbe River in the village of Velké Žernoseky, a region famous for its long winemaking tradition.

The château was built after 1667 on the site of an older fortress that had been damaged during the Thirty Years’ War. The estate was owned by several noble families, including the Nostitz family, who developed the château into an elegant Baroque residence. Beneath the building are extensive wine cellars, some of which date back to the 13th century and reflect the area’s centuries-old viticultural heritage.

Over time, the château was adapted for various uses, and it eventually became closely associated with local wine production. Today, it is owned by a winery and serves as a center for wine-related activities, accommodation, and tourism. The château is protected as a cultural monument and is valued for its Baroque architecture, historic wine cellars, and its location in the scenic Porta Bohemica area of the Czech Central Highlands.
