Verified Chateau Holešov

Holešov, Czech Republic (Czechia)

Chateau Holešov is an early Baroque chateau built in the second half of the 17th century on the site of a former Gothic fortress.

It features a quadrilateral two-story layout with a moat, arcade forecourt, and four hexagonal towers typical of the Early Baroque style. The chateau was transformed by Count Jan of Rottal, who converted it into a prestigious residence complete with grand halls and ornamental interiors.

It is surrounded by a large French park with water canals, a rose garden, and a fruit orchard. Holešov Chateau is known not only for its architecture but also for cultural events hosted there, including concerts and exhibitions. Today, it stands as one of the finest examples of early Baroque architecture in the Czech Republic, reflecting the rich noble heritage and artistic tastes of the region.
