Chaukhutia is a scenic town located in the Almora district of Uttarakhand, India, perched at about 1646 meters above sea level on the banks of the Ramganga River.

The name Chaukhutia comes from the Kumaoni word "chau-khut," meaning "four feet," which signifies the four major routes that meet here, connecting it to Ramnagar, Karanprayag, Ranikhet, Almora, and other nearby areas. Known for its rich religious and historical heritage, Chaukhutia hosts ancient temples and ruins from the Katyuri dynasty, alongside relics like the Pandukholi caves, believed to be built by the Pandavas during their exile.

The Kali temple, also called Angeri Devi temple, is a popular spiritual site nearby, alongside other temples such as the ancient Lakhanpur temple built by Katyuri kings.

The town is surrounded by lush forests and offers beautiful views of valleys like Dwarahat and Ramganga. Besides its cultural and religious significance, Chaukhutia is also favored for agricultural produce such as rice, wheat, and mangoes, as well as for fishing.
