Chaungtha Beach is a popular seaside destination in the Ayeyarwady Region of Myanmar. It is about 5 hours by car from Yangon and is known for being one of the most accessible and affordable beaches in the country. The name "Chaungtha" means "Pleasant Stream" in Burmese, named after a small stream that flows through the area.

The beach is long, with brown and yellow sand, and stretches along the Bay of Bengal. It can get crowded, especially on weekends and holidays, as many locals and visitors from Yangon come to relax and enjoy the sea. While Chaungtha is not as clean or quiet as the more expensive Ngwe Saung and Ngapali beaches, it is lively and fun, with many people enjoying beach activities.

There are many things to do at Chaungtha Beach. Visitors can swim in the sea, ride horses or bicycles, rent inflatable rings, and join football games on the sand. There are boat tours to small islands nearby, where you can snorkel or enjoy quieter white sand beaches and clear water. A small pagoda on a limestone rock at the southern end of the beach is a popular spot, and there are also mangrove forests and fishing villages to explore.

Chaungtha is famous for its fresh and cheap seafood. Many restaurants and food vendors serve baked, fried, or grilled seafood dishes. Hotel and guesthouse options range from basic to better quality, often right by the beach, though they can be more expensive during busy times.
