Chřibský Hrádek

Chřibský Hrádek is a small ruined medieval rock castle located near the village of Doubice in the scenic sandstone landscape of Bohemian Switzerland in northern Czechia.

Built in the second half of the 13th century, it was likely established by the Michalovice family to protect an important trade route leading to Lusatia. The castle stood on a sandstone outcrop above the Doubický Stream and consisted mainly of a small fortified core and wooden structures. It was damaged by fire, probably during the Hussite Wars, and eventually fell into ruin.

Today, only limited remains carved into the rock are visible. Although little of the original fortress survives, Chřibský Hrádek is a protected cultural monument and a popular destination for hikers exploring the forests, rock formations, and natural beauty of the Bohemian Switzerland and Lusatian Mountains region.
