Chyše is a historic town in Czechia known for its castle, which dates back to the 12th century.

The original fortress was first mentioned in 1169 and was initially owned by the Lords of Odolenovice for about 200 years. Over time, the castle underwent many transformations, starting as a fortified settlement, rebuilt into a Gothic castle in the 13th century, and later converted into a Renaissance chateau in 1578.

It also experienced Baroque style renovations completed in the early 18th century. The castle and town have a rich history marked by shifts in ownership among noble families, periods of destruction and reconstruction—including damage during the Hussite wars—and changes during the 20th century including the confiscation of property after World War II. The castle remains a significant landmark with architectural features from multiple historical periods, reflecting its long-standing cultural heritage in the region.
