The Botanical Garden of Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia, was founded in 1942 and is the oldest public botanical garden in the country.

Covering an area of about 6.6 hectares in the Karlova Ves district near the Danube River, it houses over 4,000 plant species, including around 1,200 species of cacti. Originally inspired by botanical gardens dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries in the region, the current garden was designed for education, scientific research, and public enjoyment.

It features several themed areas, including a large rose garden with many hybrid varieties, tropical and subtropical greenhouses, collections of succulents, palms, and ferns, and an aromatic herb garden. The garden supports research on plant acclimatization, conservation, and taxonomy, offering educational programs, workshops, and guided tours. It combines botanical science with a pleasant urban green space where visitors can experience diverse flora and relax in a peaceful setting.
