Costa Maya Cruise Port is a well-developed cruise terminal located on the southeast tip of Quintana Roo, Mexico, near the tiny fishing village of Mahahual, about 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) away.

The port is a popular stop on Western Caribbean cruises featuring a simulated Mexican village atmosphere with shops, restaurants, pools, a small beach area, beach clubs, and cultural performances like the Danza de los Voladores (pole dancing). 

From the port, visitors can take a 10-minute taxi ride or walk about 30 minutes south to Mahahual, a charming town of roughly 3,000 people with a beautiful sandy beach, the scenic malecón (boardwalk) lined with casual beach bars and restaurants, and opportunities for snorkeling, kayaking, bicycle rentals, beachside massages at about one-third the cruise ship price, and fresh seafood lunches. 

The area offers calm aquamarine waters, palm-fringed beaches, and a wide range of water and land activities including snorkeling tours, catamarans, ATV adventures, and Mayan ruins excursions, making it a tranquil destination blessed with coral reefs and coral-lined coastlines. The port serves as the departure point for shore excursions and is gateway to the Caribbean Sea, with Royal Caribbean even planning to transform it into a private island-like destination called Perfect Day Mexico.
