Costinești is a small seaside commune and popular summer resort in Constanța County, Northern Dobruja, Romania, located on the Black Sea shore about 30 kilometers south of the city of Constanța.

The commune consists of two villages, Costinești and Schitu, and sits on the site of the ancient Greek settlement Parthenopolis, with its modern name coming from Emil Costinescu, a Romanian finance minister in the early 20th century. Until the 1960s, it was just a tiny fishing village, but it transformed into a vibrant summer destination especially for young people and students after hotels, villas, and pioneer camps were built during the communist era.

Today it’s known as the “Youth Resort” because of its energetic nightlife centered around two open-air discos, Ring and Tineretului, which host nightly concerts by popular Romanian bands throughout the summer months. The resort features an 800-meter-long fine sand beach that’s 10–50 meters wide, receives 10–12 hours of sunlight daily due to its eastward orientation, and has a canal connecting the Black Sea to a small inland lake within the village.
