Devil's Throat Cave, located in the dramatic Rhodope Mountains near Trigrad Gorge in Smolyan Province, is one of Bulgaria’s most famous natural attractions.

The cave is known for its enormous underground chamber, powerful waterfall, and mysterious atmosphere, which have inspired local legends for centuries. The cave’s main feature is a roaring underground waterfall formed by the Trigrad River, which plunges about 42 meters into the cavern known as the “Hall of Thunder.” Visitors enter through a tunnel, experience the thunderous sound of the falling water, and then climb a long staircase leading back to the surface.

According to mythology, this is the place where Orpheus descended into the underworld in search of Eurydice. Combined with its striking scenery and unusual geological features, Devil's Throat Cave remains one of the most intriguing and memorable destinations in Bulgaria.
