Donabate is a small coastal town on a peninsula about 19–21 km northeast of Dublin city in Fingal County, known for its beautiful sandy beach, strong sense of community and easy access to major motorways.

Its highlight is Donabate Beach, a popular spot for walking, canoeing and surfing with views of Lambay Island, the Howth Peninsula and Malahide Estuary, plus lifeguards in season, toilets and a large car park. Immediately inland is Newbridge House and Gardens, an 18th‑century Georgian mansion built for Archbishop Charles Cobbe that remained in the Cobbe family for two centuries and is now a public park with a model farm, playground, walking paths and sports pitches.

The area is relatively quiet compared with nearby Malahide or Portmarnock, offers several golf courses, a vibrant local community with small businesses and pubs, and is undergoing major development plans that could nearly double its current population of around 7,500–10,000, though it remains somewhat awkward for commuting during rush hour due to its peninsula location and limited public transport.
