FES Cuautitlán Botanical Garden in San Mateo Ixtacalco near Mexico City, founded in 1959, is managed by the Institute of Biological Sciences of UNAM and is one of Mexico’s oldest and most important botanical gardens.
Covering about 12.7 hectares, the garden maintains a wide variety of living plants representative of the country’s diverse flora, including more than 1,200 Mexican species.
