Garryvoe Castle is a small medieval tower house located in Garryvoe Lower, County Cork, on Ireland's south coast. The ruin stands in open farmland near the village of Garryvoe and is thought to date from the late medieval period. Historical sources suggest it may have been associated with the Carew family, who owned land in the area during the 16th and 17th centuries. Today, only part of the square stone tower survives. The structure originally had multiple floors, but sections, including the southeast corner, have collapsed over time. Despite its modest size, the castle remains an interesting example of a rural Irish tower house and offers a glimpse into the region's medieval past. The castle is situated on private land and is generally viewed from a distance unless permission is obtained from the landowner. Its picturesque setting amid the rolling countryside of East Cork makes it a notable local landmark near the coast and the nearby ruins of Garryvoe's medieval parish church.
