Gunnebo Palace and Gardens, located in Mölnlycke near Gothenburg in Sweden's Mölndal Municipality, is a stunning 18th-century neoclassical estate built as a summer residence for merchant John Hall starting in the 1780s.
Designed by city architect Carl Wilhelm Carlberg as a total work of art, it integrates a main villa with preserved interiors, utility wings, Baroque formal gardens, an English landscape park between lakes Stensjön and Rådasjön, and kitchen gardens featuring heritage plants and a reconstructed orangery.
Acquired by Mölndal Municipality in 1949, protected as a cultural reserve since 2003, and meticulously restored using over 200 original drawings, it now functions as a museum, restaurant serving organic farm produce, and event venue attracting around 450,000 visitors annually with guided tours of its authentic 1700s ambiance.
