Hässelbyholm
Sweden, Sweden
Hässelbyholm, a Renaissance-style manor house situated on Fogdön peninsula in Lake Mälaren within Strängnäs Municipality, Södermanland County, Sweden, emerged from the 13th-century merger of Hässelby and Ekeby estates.
First documented in 1279 when sold to Strängnäs Bishop and later held by Vårfruberga Abbey until the Reformation made it crown property, the current main building dates to the 1660s under noble ownership including Grand Admiral Gustaf Duwall.
Acquired by Christina Piper in 1738 and established as a fideicommissum in 1747 for her granddaughter Eva Charlotta Bielke's heirs, the preserved structure remains a private residence amid scenic waterside grounds.
