Hloubětín Castle

Hloubětín Castle is a small Neo-Gothic château located in the Hloubětín district of Prague.

Although the current building dates mainly from the second half of the 19th century, it stands on the site of a much older medieval fortress that was destroyed during the Thirty Years' War in 1648. The château was gradually transformed by several owners into the distinctive castle-like residence seen today, featuring a prominent tower and decorative Gothic Revival elements.

It is recognized as a protected cultural monument and is one of the historic landmarks of Prague 9. Over the years, the building has served many purposes, including a theater, youth center, and medical facility. It became especially notable for housing the Czech Republic’s first baby box, which helped save dozens of children before being relocated to another site.
