Hodonín Castle
Hodonín, Czechia, Czech Republic (Czechia)
Hodonín Castle was the original medieval castle of Hodonín, and it likely dates back to the 11th century.
Over time it was rebuilt into a Renaissance residence, but in the late 18th century it was converted into a tobacco factory and eventually disappeared almost completely; by 1915, the last remains had been demolished. Today, it survives mainly as a historical memory rather than a standing monument, and the story of the castle is closely tied to the early history of the town of Hodonín.
