Hrad Týn nad Vltavou is a historic castle located in the South Bohemian town of Týn nad Vltavou.

The site originally hosted a wooden fortification in the early 11th century, which is believed to have served as a strategic crossing point over the Vltava River. In the 13th century, a stone castle was built on the site, which played a significant role in regional trade and defense, especially as it was the only bridge connecting Prague and České Budějovice until the 1700s.

The castle was initially associated with the Premyslid and later the Rosenberg family, who expanded and rebuilt it several times over the centuries, adding Gothic and Renaissance features. By the late 17th century, the castle was abandoned, and only ruins remain today.

Despite its ruined state, the castle's remains, along with nearby historical structures like the old bridge and fortifications, reflect its importance in medieval trade and regional history. The area today is a cultural monument and a point of interest for visitors exploring South Bohemia's rich medieval heritage.
