Humenský Kaštieľ
Humenné, Slovakia, Slovakia
Humenský Kaštieľ in Humenné, Slovakia, is a Renaissance manor house built between 1619 and 1641 by Counts Juraj III Drugeth and Ján X Drugeth on the site of a medieval water castle first mentioned in 1449.
It features a square layout with a central courtyard, corner towers, arcades, and a prominent entrance tower with a drawbridge over a moat, later modified in the 18th century into a pseudo-baroque style by the Andrássy family, who added balconies, fireplaces, stucco ceilings, and wooden paneling.
Today, it serves as the Vihorlat Museum, housing collections on art, history, and nature from the Zemplín region, surrounded by an open-air skansen of traditional wooden architecture.
